GENERAL INFO

The National Centre for Development of Innovation and Entrepreneurial Learning (NCDIEL) was established in November 2009 with financial support from the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) in North Macedonia, operating as a regional hub for innovative, technology-driven startup creation. Beyond supporting new enterprise, NCDIEL focuses heavily on systemic educational transformation, partnering with state institutions to embed entrepreneurship, green transition skills, and innovative mindsets directly into national learning frameworks. Key Highlights:
  • VET & Teacher Training: Trained 550 teachers in national Innovation curricula and upskilled over 2,300 educators across various academic disciplines.
  • Startup Incubation: Directly supported the creation and growth of 60 successful, profit-oriented, tech-based start-up companies.
  • Green Innovations CoVE (CIZI): Co-founded North Macedonia's first Center of Vocational Excellence for Green Innovations under the GREENOVET project, partnering with international hubs in Austria, Portugal, and Finland.
Green Innovation in Vocational Education and Training (VET) integrates environmentally sustainable practices, clean technologies, and eco-friendly skill sets directly into technical education curricula. By equipping learners with practical knowledge for a sustainable economy, this approach directly addresses key environmental challenges—including climate change, resource depletion, and pollution—by preparing a workforce ready to build and implement eco-innovative solutions. Key Objectives:
  • Sustainable Upskilling: Preparing students with relevant green skills for modern, eco-conscious industries.
  • Environmental Impact: Tackling climate and resource challenges through practical, sustainable techniques.
  • Future-Proofing Workforce: Training technicians and specialists capable of operating in low-carbon economies.

Entrepreneurial Teaching in VET fosters a proactive, solution-oriented mindset, giving students the tools to create, launch, and manage their own businesses or innovative projects within their chosen vocational trade. Rather than simply training individuals to enter the labor market as employees, this methodology empowers learners to become job creators, industry innovators, and adaptable problem-solvers. Key Objectives:
  • Mindset & Skill Building: Cultivating business literacy, adaptability, and risk management within vocational fields.
  • Job Creation: Empowering graduates to launch independent startups and enterprise initiatives.
  • Practical Innovation: Encouraging student-led innovation and new service models across VET sectors.
